Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Rymer Liriano was struck in the face Sunday by a pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Matt West. It was a scary situation, to say the least.
West beaned Liriano in the eighth inning of the teams’ spring training game at Maryvale Baseball Park. Liriano was carted off the field on a stretcher and reportedly suffered multiple facial fractures.

Liriano is trying to earn a major league roster spot with the Brewers after being acquired from the San Diego Padres in January. The 24-year-old outfielder appeared in 38 games with San Diego in 2014 but spent all of last season with Triple-A El Paso, where he hit .292 with 14 home runs, 64 RBIs, 18 stolen bases and an .843 OPS in 131 games.
