Glenn Robinson is done with verbal jabs. He wants to throw down.
Robinson has a longstanding beef with ESPN “First Take” star Stephen A. Smith, who recently stoked the fire by saying they despise each other. The two have different stories about what their rivalry stems from, but Robinson has a solution for settling their differences: an MMA fight.
Smith went off last week during an interview on Sirius XM’s “Karen Hunter Show,” saying he hated Robinson because the two-time NBA All-Star preached a pro-black agenda yet treated a former black coach like “trash.” This didn’t sit well with Robinson, who since claimed in an interview with TMZ Sports that Smith’s hatred stems from a heated exchange the two had in the Philadelphia 76ers’ locker room during Robinson’s playing days. Apparently, they nearly came to blows after Robinson confronted Smith about an article he had written.
Smith acknowledged Tuesday on “First Take” that the locker room altercation took place. However, the polarizing ESPN personality maintains that the heated exchange isn’t the reason for his hatred. And Smith also has no plans to take Robinson up on his unique offer to physically fight inside of a cage.
