Typically when pitchers get recognition at home plate, it’s because a vicious curveball buckled some helpless batter’s knees. So when flamethrowers take hold of a pitch and send it for a ride, there’s reason to celebrate.
Wednesday, we celebrate Jon Lester. The Chicago Cubs pitcher was in midseason form on the mound, striking out 10 Colorado Rockies while allowing only one hit and one walk in Chicago’s 10-0 drubbing of Colorado.
But he also did this:

There were a few brief moments of concern that the home run would become a lost moment in history, though.
The day we aren't on TV, @JLester34 hits a home run.

@JLester34 We will do everything in our social media power to get a hold of this footage.

Kyle Schwarber followed Lester’s homer with a shot of his own, making “Jon Lester and Kyle Schwarber hit back-to-back home runs today” the coolest sentence we never thought we’d get to write.
Thank God for the internet.
