Bill Belichick’s son received a promotion on the New England Patriots’ coaching staff.
Steve Belichick will be the Patriots’ safeties coach next season, the team announced Friday. Steve Belichick replaces Brian Flores, who will move over to coach linebackers. Steve Belichick previously served as a coaching assistant. Flores replaces Patrick Graham, who was hired by the New York Giants as their defensive line coach.
Dante Scarnecchia, who retired in 2014 and was replaced by Dave DeGuglielmo, officially is back as the Patriots’ offensive line coach. Moses Cabrera was promoted to head strength and conditioning coach, replacing Harold Nash. Cabrera’s old role, assistant strength and conditioning coach, was filled by James Hardy.
Jerry Schuplinski, who previously served as a coaching assistant, will be the Patriots’ assistant quarterbacks coach, where he’ll work with offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels.
