Are you sick of the Kobe Bryant tributes yet? If no, keep reading.
You might have heard by now, but the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is retiring after the season. Following the Lakers’ 33-point loss Monday night to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bryant has exactly one NBA game left, and the tributes are flowing in left and right.
For instance, we saw Nike roll out a star-studded tribute Monday, and now it’s rapper Kendrick Lamar’s turn, with a little help from ESPN.
Lamar has been pretty busy in NBA circles this season. Some wondered whether his surprise album release in March was a direct response to a tweet from LeBron James wondering when the Grammy-winning rapper would put out new music.
As for Bryant, his final goodbye comes Wednesday at Staples Center in L.A. against the Utah Jazz. We’re guessing there might be a few more tributes planned for that one, too. Just a hunch.
