Cold temperatures and the potential for rain or snow in northeast Ohio were enough to postpone Monday’s season opener between the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians. They weren’t, however, enough to cause Terry Francona to alter his travel plans.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, Michael Beaven of the Akron Beacon Journal spotted the Indians manager riding his trusty scooter home from Progressive Field after the game was called off.
Francona’s current and former teams now are scheduled to open their respective seasons Tuesday, with first pitch in Cleveland set for 1:10 p.m. ET.
