The Boston Red Sox have made a few tweaks to the lineup that earned an 8-7 comeback win Friday night against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
David Ortiz, who collected two hits Friday, will get a rest Saturday in the middle game of the teams’ series. Hanley Ramirez will shift from first base to designated hitter as a result. Travis Shaw will go to first base, allowing Pablo Sandoval to make his first start of the season at third base.
Rusney Castillo also will make his first start in place of Jackie Bradley Jr. in center field. Blake Swihart returns behind the plate after Ryan Hanigan caught Joe Kelly on Friday.
Farrell says lineup changes today just to get everybody involved. Ortiz will be back in tomorrow. Chris Young will start tomorrow too.
