The 2016 Masters is underway, and a familiar face is back atop the leaderboard.
Reigning Masters champion Jordan Spieth leads after Round 1, thanks to a 6-under-par 66. He went bogey-free at Augusta National, and he now has led five consecutive rounds at the Masters after going wire-to-wire last year. No. 1 golfer Jason Day was right there with Spieth on Thursday before he went bogey-triple-bogey-par to close out at even-par.
Spieth is two shots clear of the competition, as Danny Lee and Shane Lowry are tied for second after they both shot 4-under 68. But Rory McIlroy, Paul Casey, Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose all are within striking distance, too.
Two people who aren’t anywhere close to Spieth are Ernie Els and Rickie Fowler after their disastrous first rounds. Instead, they simply will try to make the cut Friday.
The second-round broadcast begins at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN and online, but you can start watching live streams at Masters.com at 9:37 a.m.
