Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is being treated at a Dallas hospital.
The 30-year-old Pro Bowler was one of three people shot at V Live nightclub in Dallas around 4:30 Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.
Broncos vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth confirmed a few details. Fortunately, Talib’s injuries don’t appear to be too serious and aren’t life-threatening.
WFAA TV first reported Talib’s involvement. Some reports cited a hospital spokesperson as saying Talib already had been discharged, but Smyth’s tweet seems to contradict that notion.
USA TODAY’s Lindsay Jones confirmed Smyth’s tweet.
It’s unclear exactly what happened, but bits of the story are starting to trickle out.
Talib, a former New England Patriot who played parts of two seasons in New England, is no stranger to run-ins with trouble. In 2011, he had charges dropped for assault with a deadly weapon.
He helped Denver win Super Bowl 50 back in February.
