Report: Stephen Curry Has Injuries In Both Shoulders, Knees; Might Need Surgery

Stephen Curry apparently has been playing through some pain during the 2016 NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors guard and back-to-back NBA MVP went to an orthopedist, who found issues in both of Curry’s shoulders and knees in an MRI, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Saturday. The L.A. Daily News’ source said some of Curry’s issues could require surgery, too.

Curry was sidelined for six games over the first and second rounds of the playoffs with knee and ankle injuries, and he cited those injuries as part of “several factors” that led him to pull out of the 2016 Olympics in Rio. However, Curry brushed off questions about possible surgeries Sunday.

“I can’t keep a straight face,” Curry said, per FOXSports.com. “Whoever said I’m getting shoulder surgery. … It’s going to be fine.”

Either way, the Warriors now have extra motivation to take care of business Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 and win their second straight NBA championship.
