Roberto Luongo’s Hilarious Tweet About Brad Marchand Wins Father’s Day

Roberto Luongo is a pretty good goaltender. But his success between the pipes pales in comparison to his Twitter game, and he proved that yet again Sunday.

Like many other professional athletes, the Florida Panthers goalie took to Twitter to express his thoughts on Father’s Day. Yet instead of paying his respects to his actual father, Luongo opted for a much more hilarious route.

Yes, that’s Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand, and yes, Luongo is referencing exactly what you think he’s referencing.

In case you need a refresher, it was Marchand who tormented Luongo, then with the Vancouver Canucks, during the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins winger tallied five goals in the final five games of the series — including two in Boston’s Cup-clinching Game 7 win — and finished the series with seven points in seven games.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

In short, he made Luongo call him his daddy.

Of course, Luongo deserves major props for having a good sense of humor about the whole thing, and that’s to be expected from a guy who has one of the funniest Twitter accounts in all of sports.
