Donald Trump Might Have Broken IRS Rules When Buying A Tim Tebow Helmet

What do Tim Tebow and Donald Trump have in common? We’re glad you asked.

The Republican presidential candidate might be in hot water (we know — shocker) over using donated money to buy a Denver Broncos helmet signed by Tim Tebow, according to a report published by The Washington Post on Friday.

The alleged incident happened four years ago, according to the Post, at an event hosted by Susan G. Komen, a breast cancer awareness non-profit organization. One of the big-ticket items being auctioned at the event was a Tebow-signed Broncos helmet, which Trump won with a $12,000 bid.

However, The Post reported Trump didn’t use a dime of his own money for the bid. Instead, he gave them a payment from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, which mostly is funded by donors. As a result, Trump might have broken the IRS’ “self-dealing” rules, according to The Post.
