UFC’s Daniel Cormier Reveals How Death Of Infant Daughter Fuels Him In Octagon

Daniel Cormier is one of the best fighters in the world.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion faces Anderson Silva on Saturday in a non-title fight on the main card at UFC 200, but things weren’t always that great.

The 37-year-old penned a piece for The Players’ Tribune on Saturday that describes the death of his infant daughter, Kaedyn, in 2003, as well as his rise from Olympic wrestler to bottom-of-the-chain MMA fighter making $1500 a month.

Cormier’s journey has been full of bumpy paths and roadblocks, but as he says: “If the road is easy, you’re probably going the wrong way.”

Given where Cormier has ended up, it’s clear whatever road he chose was the right one.
