Announcer Confuses Ryan Lochte For Michael Phelps In Olympic 200 IM Final

Oops.

While Americans soaked up Michael Phelps’ 22nd gold medal (and 26th Olympic medal overall) in the 200-meter individual medley Thursday night, Canadians were led to believe it was Phelps’ American rival, Ryan Lochte, who would stand atop the podium in Brazil.

The winner, of course, was Phelps, by quite a margin. Lochte missed the podium.
