Clayton Kershaw Rains Scotch Whisky On Rams To Celebrate Their L.A. Return

If Clayton Kershaw isn’t the most popular person among Los Angeles’ pro sports community, he’ll have no problem securing invitations to athletes’ house parties.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher welcomed the NFL’s Rams back to Los Angeles with gifts that are bound to keep on giving: expensive Scotch whisky.

Kershaw sent 200 bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label to the Rams headquarters, KABC-TV in Los Angeles reported Tuesday. Each bottle reportedly has custom engraving that says “WELCOME HOME! LA ALL DAY.”

“I know our loyal LA fan base has been waiting for this moment for a long time,” Kershaw said, per KABC. “To celebrate their return and welcome the Rams back to our city, it seemed fitting to send the team limited edition bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label: Year of the Ram. I look forward to watching them play for many seasons to come. Here’s to a new beginning, great success and a winning season!”

For those who don’t know, a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label costs around $200. That means Kershaw spent upward of $40,000 on the welcoming gifts.

Let’s hope vendors gave him a price break on the bulk purchase.
