Kwame Brown wants to return to the NBA.
This is not a joke, and yes, it’s a bad idea.
Brown — perhaps the biggest NBA draft bust of all time after failing to enjoy much success as a No. 1 pick of the Washington Wizards in 2001 — hasn’t played since 2012-13 when he averaged 1.9 points in 22 games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
According to Brown’s agency, who announced his comeback plans, he’s “ready to be the outstanding player he was on several NBA teams.”
“Outstanding” is an interesting way to describe a player with career averages of 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
It’s not a bad time for Brown to get back in the game, though. The salary cap is at an all-time high and even mediocre players are making around $10 million per season.
