Red Sox Vs. Tigers Lineup: Rick Porcello Makes First Start In Detroit With Boston

Rick Porcello has been to Detroit since being traded from the Tigers to the Boston Red Sox for Yoenis Cespedes. He’s even pitched against his former team at Fenway Park.

But on Friday, the right-hander will face the Tigers in their domain for the first time since moving to Boston.

Porcello is 36-29 with a 4.58 career ERA at Comerica Park over six seasons with the Tigers, but he’s been much improved with the Red Sox in 2016. Porcello’s 16 wins with Boston this season trail only Toronto Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ’s 17.

As for the lineup, the Red Sox are back to full strength for Friday’s matchup. Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz both return to the lineup in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Travis Shaw will get another day off, though, so Brock Holt will start at third base and bat seventh.

Here are both teams’ lineups for Friday.
