Dwyane Wade Unimpressed By Donald Trump’s Tweet On Star’s Slain Cousin
NBA star Dwyane Wade recently broke his silence about the murder of his cousin and a controversial tweet from Donald Trump that followed.
Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was shot and killed Aug. 26 while pushing a stroller through a Chicago neighborhood. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, tweeted the following one day after the killing.

As you might imagine, the tweet wasn’t well-received by many, including Wade, who responded for the first time Friday in an interview with “Good Morning America.”
“I was grateful that it started a conversation, but on the other hand, it just left a bad taste in my mouth because of what my family is dealing with and what our city of Chicago is dealing with, and it looks like it’s being used as political gain,” Wade told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.
Trump, likely feeling the immediate blowback, sent this tweet about an hour after his original tweet.
My condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family, on the loss of Nykea Aldridge. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

Obviously, though, the damage already was done, with Wade’s pointed (yet measured) answer saying as much.
Wade, a Chicago native, signed with the Bulls earlier this summer.
