It seems like most people are set in their ways on Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest. But no matter where you stand on the issue, you really should hear what Marshawn Lynch told Conan O’Brien on Tuesday.
O’Brien asked the retired Seattle Seahawks running back for his reaction to Kaepernick’s silent protest of the police killings of African-American men in America, and his response is worth a listen.
“With what’s going on, I’d rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up, and get murdered,” Lynch said.
Lynch’s comments come as two more black men recently were killed by police. Former Seahawks teammate Richard Sherman addressed both shootings in a powerful press conference Wednesday.
