Red Sox Host Day Of Remembrance Blood Drive In Honor Of 9/11 Victims

The Boston Red Sox, American Red Cross and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center hosted their 14th annual Day of Remembrance Blood Drive at Fenway Park on Sunday to honor the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Since 2002, the year after the tragedy, the event has collected more than 10,000 units of blood, which means 30,000 lives were potentially saved.

NESN’s Tom Caron talked about the Day of Remembrance Blood Drive on “Red Sox Gameday Live” before Boston’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Hear more in the video above.
