The ending to the North Carolina-Florida State game Saturday wasn’t quite as shocking as Tennessee-Georgia, but it still was a pretty incredible finish.
The Tar Heels came out on fire, scoring three consecutive touchdowns to take a huge lead on the 12th-ranked Seminoles. But FSU came back and eventually took a one-point lead with 23 seconds remaining in front of its home fans.
However, that proved to be just enough time for the Tar Heels, who got into field-goal range, thanks to a long reception and a pass-interference penalty. It still was a 54-yard kick for Nick Weiler, but he made it look easy, as he clinched the shocking 37-35 victory for UNC.
And his celebration almost was as bold as his kick.
