Amir Johnson Rocks Fantastic Larry Bird Socks Before Celtics Beat Nets

The Boston Celtics had it going both on and off the court Wednesday night in Brooklyn.

The Celtics took care of business against the Nets at Barclays Center, riding Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley’s combined 45 points to a 111-92 win that capped a perfect 3-0 road trip. The good vibes apparently started well before tip-off, as big man Amir Johnson set the tone by sporting a fantastic pair of socks during warmups.

Yes, those are Larry Bird socks, a terrific tribute to the Celtics legend and current Indiana Pacers president.

Johnson didn’t exactly light it up like Bird on Wednesday, finishing with two points on 1-of-2 shooting, but he led Boston with nine rebounds and played strong interior defense as the C’s held their opponent under 100 points for the third consecutive game.

Thomas and Bradley led the charge on offense, finishing with 23 and 22 points, respectively. Al Horford added 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists in another strong game for the Celtics big man, while Boston relied on some excellent team basketball to put away the pesky Nets.

The Celtics, who are 3-0 since the returns of Horford and forward Jae Crowder, will get Thanksgiving off before battling the mighty San Antonio Spurs on Friday afternoon at TD Garden.
