Conor McGregor Couldn’t Care Less About Donald Trump Or Hillary Clinton

Conor McGregor already is in New York for his fight this Saturday against Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden, but the UFC featherweight champion probably wasn’t in any rush to race down to Donald Trump’s Election Night headquarters in the Big Apple early Wednesday morning.

McGregor was asked by BT Sport on Tuesday night before Trump was elected president of the United States what he thought about the Republican candidate. The Notorious didn’t have much to say, other than to make it clear he didn’t care for either Trump or the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton.

“I just could not give a bollocks,” McGregor said. “With all due respect, the whole thing is just weird to me.”

McGregor suggested the public was “brainwashed” by the election, which was one of the most divisive in American history. He also wasn’t sold on the idea that things would change based on the election’s result, adding that “it is what it is.”

McGregor will look to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold belts in two weight classes simultaneously this Saturday when he faces Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205.
