Vin Scully’s Reaction To 2016 Presidential Medal Of Freedom Completes His Awesome Retirement Year

2016 has been tough on some people. Not Vin Scully, whom we declare as this year’s biggest winner.

President Barack Obama awarded the legendary Los Angeles Dodgers braodcaster the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Wednesday in recognition of his outstanding career. The award is the highest honor a U.S. President can give to a civilian, and Scully is one of this year’s 21 recipients.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest called Scully with the good news. Scully’s reaction, one full of grace and humility, will come as little surprise to those who listened to him during his recently concluded 67-year career as a Dodgers announcer.

Scully, 88, will receive his medal on Nov. 22 at the White House.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Scully undoubtedly has bowed out of baseball on top. The presidential record says as much.
