Saints Run Up Score With Trick-Play Touchdown; Was It Bountygate Payback?

You can forgive, but you never forget.

On paper, a matchup between the 4-6 Los Angeles Rams and 4-6 Saints wasn’t exciting, and the actual game was a blowout — New Orleans won 49-21 at home. But there was far more to this game than the records and final score.

Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams used to hold the same position in New Orleans, but he left in disgrace because of Bountygate. He ultimately was suspended for the 2012 season, as was Saints head coach Sean Payton.

Now fast forward a few years to Sunday, when Williams returned to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and was embarrassed on a trick-play touchdown while the Saints already were up 21 points.

We see what you (probably) did there, Saints.

Payback sent.
