It’s actually kind of a shame Jeff Fisher was fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. Watching him coach is like watch a train wreck: It’s so bad you just can’t look away.
But Fisher has reached new levels of bad. Well, he almost did, but the Rams did him so dirty that they actually fired him the day after he tied Dan Reeves for the most head coaching losses in NFL history at 165. They didn’t even let him take the record, which he almost certainly would have done before the end of the 2016 season.
In a way, that’s actually such an unbelievably disappointing fact that it’s only fitting to have happened to Fisher. Can we name Dec. 12 after him in honor of his wretched mediocrity? Yeah? Cool.
In honor of The First Annual Jeff Fisher Day, we found this video, courtesy of SB Nation’s Rams blog Turf Show Times, chronicling every last one of those 165 letdowns.
Happy Jeff Fisher Day, everyone.
