Joe McKnight Shot And Killed In Apparent Road Rage Incident In Louisiana

Joe McKnight has been shot and killed. He was 28 years old.

The former USC, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets running back Joe McKnight’s body has been identified by family members, according to Nola.com.

McNight was shot and killed at 4 p.m. ET in Terrytown, La., following a road rage incident, Jefferson Parish sheriff Newell Normand told WDSU’s Scott Walker, and the shooter is in custody, WDSU’s Travers Mackel reported.

An unnamed female witness told Nola.com that she saw two men arguing, and that the other man shot McKnight and said, “I told you, don’t you f— with me,” before shooting him again.

The Jets’ 2010 fourth-round pick, who was born in Kenner, La., played in 39 games for New York over three seasons. He joined the Chiefs in 2014 and played in the Canadian Football League in 2016.
