The Chicago Bulls announced Monday that point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team.
Rondo will miss Monday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers at United Center.
The team did not offer specific details about what led to Rondo’s suspension, but Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports’ The Vertical reported that the one-game ban stems from a “heated exchange” the four-time All-Star had with a Bulls assistant coach following Saturday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The NBA suspended Rondo last season for directing a homophobic slur at referee Bill Kennedy, and the point guard also had a widely publicized spat with Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle that ultimately signaled the end of Rondo’s time with the Mavs.
Rondo signed a two-year, $28 million contract with Chicago this past offseason. He’s averaging 8.2 points and 7.2 assists in 30.5 minutes per game over 17 contests.
