The Boston Bruins are legitimate Stanley Cup contenders as the Feb. 26 NHL trade deadline approaches, and that gives general manager Don Sweeney and his staff some interesting decisions to make over the next few days.
The B’s don’t need to do anything at the deadline, especially after beefing up their blue line with the acquisition of veteran defenseman Nick Holden in a trade with the New York Rangers earlier this week.
Still, with a team this talented, it wouldn’t hurt to at least take a hard look at the trade market and see if there’s a player who could potentially catapult the Bruins to a deep Stanley Cup Playoffs run.
