One of the best things about the 2018 Winter Olympics is Leslie Jones’ newfound love for hockey, especially the United States women’s team.
The actor and “Saturday Night Live” star apparently fell in love with the sport while getting her first up-close taste during a trip to the Winter Olympics in South Korea.
Jones returned to New York City on Wednesday, just in time for Team USA’s gold medal game against Canada. Jones hilariously live-tweeted the entire instant classic, including an NBC Sports intermission interview with US forward Gigi Marvin.
NBC hockey analyst Pierre McGuire asked a relatively innocent question after reminding Marvin she was one of 10 Americans on the team that lost the gold medal game in 2014 in heartbreaking fashion.
Jones, however, couldn’t believe he’d ask such a question in the middle of such an important game.
And her response — in a video with a tweet that read “Hey ass—- announcer get your ass somewhere and sit down!” — was glorious, assuming you don’t mind just a little bit of profanity.
“OK, f—, asshole!” Jones screamed at her TV. “Why the f— would you ask her that right now, in the middle of a fucking game she’s playing right now? Thank you. Thank you for putting that in her motherf—— head.
“You know what, get your ass the f— away from the hockey players! You know what, I swear to God, I swear to God. See, when I go, ya’ll lose your f—— mind! What the f— would you ask her that for?”
Well then.
Jones obviously was in a much better mood after Team USA pulled off the win, capturing its first women’s hockey gold medal in 20 years with an exhilarating shootout victory.
