The basketball world is expecting the Kansas Jayhawks to soar above the Pennsylvania Quakers.
The teams will meet Thursday afternoon at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan., in an NCAA Tournament Round of 64 game. No. 1 Kansas is heavily favored against No. 16 Penn, which returns to the Big Dance for the first time since 2007.
Kansas’ backcourt of Devonte’ Graham, Malik Newman and Svi Mykhailiuk will look to run roughshod over Penn, while center Udoka Azubuike also might overpower the under-sized Quakers.
Penn’s defense perhaps was the biggest factor in its Ivy League Tournament victory. It must rise to new heights if Penn is to beat Kansas in an upset for the ages.
