NFL general managers, Cleveland Browns GM John Dorsey has a message for you:
“Give me a call and see what’s up.”
That call is not just to chit chat, it’s to inquire about the No.1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. That’s because Dorsey, who took over in Cleveland toward the end of this past season, is willing to listen to offers for the top pick in the draft, and even is willing to part with it for the right price, according to ESPN.
“There’s a lot of things I can do with No. 1, and not just get a quarterback as well,” Dorsey said. “My door is wide open. If somebody wants to come up and talk to me about a trade, I’m willing to trade. But also I’m going to do what’s best for this organization, and I will do that.”
The Browns own the pick after going winless in 2017, and presumably they would use it to draft one of the many talented quarterbacks available.
But things historically have not often gone well for the Browns in the draft, so if they manage to get a quality deal via trade, no one could blame them for going after it.
