NFL Rumors: Here’s What Eagles Are Asking For In Nick Foles Trade

Nick Foles brought the Philadelphia Eagles a lot more than a Super Bowl championship.

After Foles led the Eagles to their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, the veteran quarterback effectively became a hot commodity on the trade market. Foles still has one year remaining on his current contract with Philadelphia, and the team likely could strike while the iron still is hot.

While the Eagles could cash in on a trade for Foles, it doesn’t appear the team is chomping at the bit to deal him. In his latest column for the MMQB, Peter King detailed what it would take to pry the 29-year-old from the City of Brotherly Love.

“The Eagles got first- and fourth-round picks for Sam Bradford 17 months ago and feel Foles is better, so it’ll likely take at least that to pique their interest, and that’s likely not happening,” King writes.

It makes sense why Philadelphia wouldn’t be in too much of a rush to trade Foles. He likely will be under center to start the 2018 season, as Carson Wentz isn’t expected to be available for Week 1 after tearing his ACL on Dec. 10. But once Wentz returns, all signs point to the third-year QB resuming as the starting signal-caller, forcing the Eagles into a tough decision with Foles.

Philadelphia has time to wait for the right deal to come along if trading Foles is in its future plans. But as we’ve seen in the past, teams can get desperate and offer quite the package for an effective quarterback.
