The Boston Bruins are looking like one of the NHL’s best teams as they sprint toward the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Boston went 1-0-2 this week, including a dominating performance over the then-East-leading Tampa Bay Lightning. Bruce Cassidy’s club has been banged up, but they are getting healthy at the right time and look poised for a deep playoff run. Goal 1: David Pastrnak’s Power-Play Goal Vs. Lightning
With time winding down in the first period at TD Garden, Pastrnak ripped a laser that found its way through a sea of bodies and into the back of the net, giving Boston a 2-0 lead.
Goal 2: Ryan Donato Scores Vs. Jets
David Krejci forced a turnover against the Jets, creating a 2-on-1 opportunity for he an Donato. Krejci slipped the puck to the B’s rookie, who lifted a backhand shot past Winnipeg netminder Connor Hellebuck to tie the game at one.
Goal 3: Patrice Bergeron Puts Dagger In Lightning
The Bruins led the Lightning 2-1 midway through the third period when Bergeron took a feed from Torey Krug and ripped the puck into the back of the net to give the B’s a 3-1 edge.
