Are there 65 professional athletes in Boston worth more money than Cam Newton?
Conventional wisdom says one thing, but the numbers tell an entirely different story.
Boston Sports Info on Thursday shared a graphic showing all of the Boston athletes with the base salaries higher than the $1,050,000 Newton will make this season with the New England Patriots. Among the players who rank ahead of Newton -- the 2015 MVP -- are Carsen Edwards and Cody Davis.

Newton hasn't been good this season, but he nevertheless is an incredible bargain at that rate.
He and the Patriots will return to the field Sunday afternoon when they visit the Miami Dolphins.
