How Jarren Duran Connected Red Sox Outfielders In All-Star Game

Boston's had serious talent in center field

Jarren Duran stole the show to earn MVP honors while representing the Boston Red Sox in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game.

Duran became the first Red Sox All-Star to take home the honor since J.D. Drew did so at Yankee Stadium in 2008. Duran marked Boston’s fifth recipient of the award, along with Drew, Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens and Carl Yastrzemski.

The Boston outfielder made his mark in the fifth inning when he put the American League in front with a two-run home run to right field. That long ball ultimately became the difference in the victory.

Duran also became the youngest Boston All-Star to homer in the Midsummer Classic since Fred Lynn in 1979, per Baseball Reference.

Lynn loved what he saw on Tuesday night and took to X to congratulate Duran.

“Congrats, JD,” Lynn wrote. “Great to see a Red Sox centerfielder win the MVP award. Well deserved.”
