Judon sat off to the side
FOXBORO, Mass. — Christian Barmore and David Andrews were absent from the New England Patriots’ first fully-padded training camp practice Monday.
Matthew Judon was not, but might as well have skipped altogether.
Judon arrived early as he always does, but did not participate Monday, instead sitting off to the side while New England worked through its special teams period. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo spoke with his star defender for an extended period of time before both eventually made their way over to individual drills.
Judon was in a hat and sweatpants and did not participate before departing early in practice.
Marte Mapu didn’t practice, either, but took direction from coaches and watched his teammates work through special teams.
Here’s the full absence list:
DT Christian Barmore
C David Andrews
LB Sione Takitaki (PUP)
OL Jake Andrews (PUP)
OL Cole Strange (PUP)
WR Kendrick Bourne (PUP)
Barmore is expected to miss some time, as New England revealed Sunday that he’d been diagnosed with blood clots over the weekend. Andrews’ absence was slightly more surprising, as he hadn’t missed any practices to that point.
Shaun Wade wore a red non-contact jersey for the third consecutive practice.
