Patriots Have Had ‘Internal Discussions’ About 2024 Uniform Tweak

New England could mix things up with its gear in 2024

The Patriots potentially could sport a variety of looks over the course of the 2024 season.

This used to not be an option for New England, as the NFL’s previous one-helmet rule limited the depth of the franchise’s uniform sets. But now with more fashion freedom, the Patriots have the opportunity to mix things up with their threads on a regular basis.

In his latest Sunday morning notes column, ESPN’s Mike Reiss teased possible 2024 uniform alternates for fans to get excited about.

“The Patriots have had internal discussions about possibly wearing silver pants (instead of the standard blue) for a game(s), which would give its game-day uniform a different look,” Reiss wrote. “But there is no confirmation at this time when/if it will happen. Also, as expected, the team plans to wear throwback jerseys during the 2024 season, with an announcement on a specific game(s) to come in the future.”

Of course, uniform plans currently aren’t among the most pressing matters for the powers that be at One Patriot Place. All eyes are on training camp, which kicks off Wednesday morning on the practice fields outside of Gillette Stadium.

New England’s preseason opener also isn’t too far away, as it will host the Carolina Panthers on Aug. 8.
