The veteran captain missed the last two padded practices
The New England Patriots were without veteran captain David Andrews during each of their first two padded practices this week.
The Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan on Tuesday night reported Andrews’ absence was due to a personal issue, and he is not expected to be a long-term.
Nick Leverett replaced Andrews on the first-string offensive line, which featured, from left to right, Caedan Wallace, Sidy Sow, Leverett, Mike Onwenu and Chukwuma Okorafor.
The interior group of Sow, Andrews and Onwenu spent the first four training camp practices on Jacoby Brissett’s first team.
The Patriots will return to the practice fields at Gillette Stadium on Thursday for Day 7 of training camp.
