Emma Greco previously played with PWHL Minnesota
PWHL Boston announced their second addition of the day with inking defender Emma Greco to a one-year deal.
Greco played her first year of the PWHL in Minnesota, appearing in 22 games through the regular season. The 29-year-old tallied no points in the regular season on 24 shots on goal. She also played in 10 playoff games where her team won the Walter Cup against Boston.
“Emma is a steady, reliable defenseman with proven experience in this league,” PWHL Boston General Manager Danielle Marmer said, per the team’s press release. “She was a part of Minnesota’s Walter Cup-winning team, so she knows what it takes to win in the playoffs. Her hard defending and simple puck-moving style is an identity we’re excited to add to our D-corps.”
The defender will add experience to Boston, having pro experience dating back to 2017. Greco started her professional hockey career with the PHF’s Connecticut Whale during the 2017-18 season, followed by the CWHL’s Toronto Furies in 2018-19. She was also a member of the PWHPA during the 2019-20 season.
She played two seasons with the PHF’s Toronto Six from 2021-23 where she won an Isobel Cup.
Greco will be joining a group of 16 returners and the two new additions of Hannah Bilka and blue liner Syndey Bard.
