Red Sox Lineups: Kutter Crawford Takes Hill In Rubber Match Vs. Yankees

Crawford got the better of the Yankees last month

After a thrilling, extra-inning win and a blowout loss, the Boston Red Sox have a chance to take the series against the archrival New York Yankees on Sunday night at Yankee Stadium.

The Red Sox will hope Kutter Crawford is up for the task. The right-hander turned in a strong performance when he faced the Yankees last month, tossing six innings of one-run ball while walking one and striking out nine. Crawford will be opposed by Yankees right-hander Luis Gil.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora put Tyler O’Neill and Connor Wong, who both sat out Saturday’s rout, back into the lineup for the rubber match. Cora also decided to move Wilyer Abreu down in the order as the right-hander will bat seventh.

The Yankees will trot out basically the same lineup they did the same before. The only change Yankees skipper Aaron Boone made it replacing catcher Austin Wells for Jose Trevino. Ben Rice, a Cohasset, Mass. native, will lead things off after a monumental three-home run game.

First pitch between the Red Sox and Yankees on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” is set for 7:10 p.m. ET.

Here are the starting lineups for both sides:
