Red Sox Vs. Mariners Lineups: Danny Jansen Catching In Finale

A series win is on the line Wednesday in Boston

The Red Sox and the Mariners will wrap up their three-game set Wednesday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Boston starter Brayan Bello will have a new battery mate for the series finale. Danny Jansen, who made his Red Sox debut Sunday night against the New York Yankees, will be behind the plate for the first time in a Boston uniform in the matinee matchup. Jansen will bat seventh behind Dominic Smith and Rob Refsnyder, who takes over for Tyler O’Neill in left field.

Red Sox hitters will face a tough customer before their Thursday off day, as George Kirby is set to take the hill for the visitors. Kirby silenced Boston in his 2024 debut in late March when he pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out eight and only allowing two hits.
