What Celtics’ Derrick White Told Jaylen Brown After Team USA Drama

White and Brown are just fine

Jaylen Brown and Derrick White are just fine, despite many believing Team USA might have driven a wedge between them.

Brown didn’t crack Team USA’s roster for the Paris Olympics, with many believing pointing to his shaky history with Nike, the club’s lead sponsor, as the primary reason. It wouldn’t have really mattered, except for the fact White was chosen to replace Kawhi Leonard on the roster.

Brown didn’t allow that to stop him from posting a number of cryptic tweets regarding the possible reason for being passed over, and though many believed that was a selfish move, White didn’t seem to mind.

“Jaylen gave me a call and I was like, ‘Yeah, you didn’t need to call me. I know we’re good,'” White told Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.. “He gave me a call and said he just wanted to clear things up and I told him we’re all good. Never any problem or issue with us, for sure. He’s a hell of a player and I’ve never had a bad thing to say about JB.”

The Celtics star doesn’t have beef, which was clear when Brown revealed they’d spoken back at the ESPY’s, but now it’s been said from both sides.

Does that mean Brown will fly out to Paris to root White, Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday on? No, probably not.
