What Celtics’ Jayson Tatum Feels He Accomplished With Jaylen Brown

The duo got the job done

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown finally reached their goals with the Boston Celtics, taking home Banner 18 in the 2024 NBA Finals.

The duo did a lot of winning while dominating the NBA together for seven seasons, growing into their own with the Celtics. The one accolade that kept alluding them was indeed a championship. Their previous failures to do so brought narratives of whether Tatum and Brown could play together.

Capturing a championship with the Celtics put that to rest.

“I think over the years it’s just made us stronger,” Tatum told Sports Illustrated through a “10 Burning Questions” episode. “Made us more connected. Made us more together in a sense. Now, we have something that they can never take away from us. We did all the things they said we could not do. I’ll forever be grateful for him and what we’ve been able to accomplish together.”

Tatum played a well-rounded style for the Celtics throughout a dominant 16-3 postseason run. Right by his side, Brown elevated his play to a higher level when it mattered most, taking home MVP honors in both the Eastern Conference finals and the 2024 NBA Finals.

Now, the Celtics duo holds the opportunity to add to that legacy by building on their first title.
