Which Veteran Wideout Will Patriots Cut During Training Camp?

Will Tyquan Thornton earn another shot in Year 3?

The Patriots are going to have to make a few tough decisions when they finalize their initial 53-man roster on Aug. 27.

It could be especially tough trying to figure out which wideouts are worthy of a spot, and which will have to be given up on in order to actually upgrade the unit as a whole.

NESN’s George Balekji and Sean McGuire discussed potential cut candidates in the receiver room on the “Foxboro Rush” podcast Tuesday, with the latter having one name pop to the front of mind immediately.

“I think Tyquan Thornton is pretty much the obvious one to me,” McGuire said. “It’s going to come down to him and JuJu (Smith-Schuster). DeMario Douglas is a definite. Ja’Lynn Polk is a definite. Javon Baker is a definite. Kendrick Bourne, I would say is a definite. KJ Osborn, I would assume is a roster lock at this point. JuJu, Tyquan, Jalen Reagor are fighting for one, maybe two spots.”
