How Giants Validated Patriots’ Beliefs In Drafting Drake Maye

"Hard Knocks" showed quite the saga this week

The New England Patriots decided to invest their future in rookie quarterback Drake Maye.

New England drafted the North Carolina product with the third overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. That selection came just three picks before the New York Giants went on the clock at No. 6 overall.

The Giants also could have looked at a quarterback in April and apparently did their research on Maye.

As revealed in new footage from HBO’s “Hard Knocks” docuseries, Maye fascinated the Giants during pre-draft meetings, prompting general manager Joe Schoen to check in on the Patriots’ plans with New England’s executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf.

On the latest episode of NESN’s “Boston Has Entered The Chat” podcast, Travis Thomas and George Balekji discussed what the Giants saw in Maye prior to his arrival with the Patriots.
