Bruins Stars React To Johnny Gaudreau’s Tragic Death

According to police, Gaudreau and his brother were killed by a drunk driver

The NHL world was in shock Friday morning after learning about the tragic death of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother.

According to New Jersey State Police, Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and Matthew Gaudreau, 29, were killed by a suspected drunk driver while riding their bikes Thursday night.

Johnny Gaudreau was one of hockey’s top stars and a standout at Boston College. Matthew Gaudreau played with his brother on the Eagles men’s hockey team and also played for the Worcester Railers of the ECHL. He and his brother reportedly were in New Jersey to be groomsmen at their sister’s wedding Friday.

A pair of Boston Bruins defensemen offered their condolences to the Gaudreau family.

“Sending prayers to the Gaudreau family. Unimaginable,” McAvoy wrote on his Instagram story.

“RIP,” Lindholm wrote on his Instagram story.
