The NBA has seen centers such as Shaquille O’Neal dominate the sport and take over the game at the position.

There are candidates in the modern game who may find their way to that conversation including San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. As a rookie, the 7-foot-4 center averaged over 21 points per game across 71 contests for San Antonio in the 2023-24 season.
