How Is Patrick Mahomes Ranked Behind Tyreek Hill, Others In NFL Top 100?!

Mahomes was ranked the fourth-best player by his NFL brethren

In the eyes of his NFL brethren, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is not the best player the league has to offer.

He’s not the second-best player either, or even the third-best.

Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion who led Kansas City to consecutive Lombardi Trophies, ranked fourth on the latest NFL Top 100 list. He ranked behind Tyreek Hill, Lamar Jackson and Christian McCaffrey, respectively, The Top 100 is voted on by players, and the top 10 was revealed on NFL Network on Friday.

NESN’s George Balekji and Travis Thomas took issue with Mahomes’ spot and expressed as much on the latest episode of NESN’s “Foxboro Rush” podcast.

“Tyreek Hill was a non-factor in the freezing cold, sub-negative-30 game he lost to Patrick Mahomes,” Balekji said.

“Patrick Mahomes should be No. 1. To have Tyreek Hill at No. 1 is beside me. … You cannot put Tyreek Hill No. 1 over Mahomes.”

Thomas believes it shows how NFL players feel about Mahomes.

“This is a popularity contest,” he said. “The players don’t like Patrick Mahomes outside of Kansas City because they’re sick of getting their butts whooped by Patrick Mahomes.”
