Patriots Bring Back Veterans, Add Outside Rookie To Practice Squad

Bryan Hudson spent the summer in Detroit

The Patriots don’t exactly seem to be in a hurry to fill out their practice squad.

New England made a few more additions Thursday, as interior offensive lineman Bryan Hudson, wide receiver Jalen Reagor, offensive lineman Michael Jordan, defensive lineman Trysten Hill and cornerback Isaiah Bolden were all spotted in the locker room before practice.

Hudson, Reagor, Jordan and Hill all confirmed to reporters that they’d signed to the practice squad. Bolden, on the other hand, needs to clear waivers before he officially signs, though the expectation is that he will.

Hudson is the only player who hadn’t previously spent time in New England, originally signing with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent. The Louisville product, who stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 301 pounds, gave up zero sacks and just two pressures in 110 snaps of preseason football.

The Patriots, if you include Bolden, have only filled 12-of-17 available spots on their practice squad. New England can keep an extra player thanks to Jotham Russell’s position in the International Player Pathway Program, which allows teams to keep a player without having them count as part of the roster.

Reagor, Jordan, Hill and Bolden were all cut Wednesday, as the waiver claims of offensive tackles Demontrey Jacobs and Zachary Thomas, linebacker Curtis Jacobs and defensive tackle Eric Johnson were processed and necessitated the opening of four roster spots.
